Lots of goodies from the Per Annum mailbag since we last took a peek. Here's a sampling of what our loyal & valued customers have been saying about our City Diaries and services:
Simply put, Bettina from Glastonbury, CT, likes everything about her diary. "I am lost without it!" she says. That's what we like to hear!
Per Annum customers span the globe -- here's a kind word from Sayuri from Sagamihara, Japan: "I [used to live] in Boston and still really love Boston. So much information and the maps of the city are great." Arrigato!
Amber from Brooklyn offers the following testimonial: "I love the convenience of having a 'go-to' guidebook in my purse at all times. It's sleek and discreet and has all of the information one might possibly need to get around Manhattan." Being a Brooklynite, however, she goes on to say, "I would love to see the option for a Manhattan/Brooklyn Diary!" This is actually a common request and one that we are seriously considering as soon as the fates allow....
The most original suggestion we've received in a while comes from Amy from Brooklyn, who would like to see: "Parade schedules! So you know when/where to avoid." Sounds like a battle-tested New Yorker to me!
Meanwhile, longtime user Peter from Norwalk, CT, offers the following declaration: "I have been using the diary for over 20 years and I write all my appointments and important info in them. I also like the city guides -- airline phone numbers, restuarant info, subway guides and all the info that you provide that I do use from time to time. I HAVE FOUND THIS BOOK INVALUABLE AND WOULD USE NO OTHER DIARY!" We salute you, sir!
Score another one for the classic paper planner in this digital world, courtesy of Megan from NYC: "I love having one of these in addition to my Blackberry because I can (a) look up things underground in the subway, and (b) the maps and planner are much easier to use than the digital ones on my phone."
Now, to keep us honest, here's a common complaint. Hilary from Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, points out, "Pages are much too thin -- the ink runs through!" This sentiment is shared by Peter from Chicago, who says, "My pens bleed right through and that is BAD." It is true that the pages are intentionally thin, in order for us to keep the Diaries so slim and compact (which, it turns out, is one of the things people like most). As a result, we recommend against using a felt-tip pen or marker, which is more likely to bleed through. However, a regular ballpoint pen (such as the one that comes with the Deluxe Leather edition) or pencil should work just fine.
Lastly, here's a pair of dueling comments out of Brooklyn: Charlotte says, "Too much information on wine and stocks!" While Amanda retorts, "I like the vintage wine table and all the NYC maps!" Just goes to show that you can't please all of the people all of the time!
Keep the comments, suggestions, and yes, even criticisms coming! We thrive on customer feedback! And don't forget to pre-order your 2011 City Diaries (15% off + Free Shipping thru the end of April) by CLICKING HERE!
