Every day, the Per Annum mailbag receives all kinds of customer comments, questions, suggestions and yes, even complaints. We do our best to communicate with everyone, hear different views, and figure out how to best satisfy as many people as possible -- and I thought I'd take this opportunity to share some recent communiqué about our City Diaries, and maybe answer some of your own questions in the process:
Let's start with K.S. from Bronxville, NY, who muses, “I'd like the diary to have either a small attached pen or some kind of loop or slot for my own pen.”
Well, K.S., we have just the thing for you -- next time, try the Deluxe Diary (available in the Manhattan, Chicago and the 18-City Metro editions), which is a leather-bound version with a gold clasp and pen attachment on the cover!
Next, Christina from Chicago laments “having to rewrite my most frequently used addresses each year.” Meanwhile, E.T. from Cambridge, MA, believes that “Another plastic pocket on back cover would be helpful.”
Christina and E.T., you will both be happy to know that removable indexed address booklets and additional plastic pockets can be purchased for all diaries –- they are listed along with the Diaries as "accessories."
Finally, we have Paul from New York who wonders, "Can you make the print of your maps bigger?"
This is a good example of the dilemma that we sometimes face -- that is, how to put as much useful information as possible into a pocket-sized space. The maps that we use are quite intricate, and some of the details can be tricky to read at times. We are always working with our map providers to try and make improvements -- but fortunately, we also have a number of solutions for the current product:
- There's a handy Magnifier/Bookmark, which fits inside the Diary's plastic pocket for easy access (this can also be found under Diary accessories).
- We have a variety of Nannini FlatSpecs Reading Glasses, in a range of magnification powers, which are ultra-portable and ideal for reading small print.
- We have available a range of pocket-sized magnifiers made by Two's Company, which would also solve this problem (and keep you looking snazzy!).
